The 1939 Cleveland Rams had another challenging season in the National Football League (NFL). Under head coach Dudley DeGroot, the Rams finished with a 2-9-0 record, again placing them in last place in the NFL’s Western Division.
The 1939 season marked the third year for the Rams, who were still struggling to establish themselves in the league. Despite having some individual talent, the team faced difficulties with consistency and could not compete effectively with other teams in the division.
The 1939 season was significant for a few reasons, although the team’s performance on the field wasn’t strong. After this season, the Cleveland Rams would remain in Cleveland for a few more years, but the struggles continued. Eventually, the franchise would relocate to Los Angeles in 1946, where they would become the Los Angeles Rams and find more success in the NFL.
Overall, the 1939 Cleveland Rams were part of the early, less successful years for the franchise, before they eventually achieved prominence in the league.
