Former West Virginia, Richmond Hill wide receiver headed to NFL

Some of the NFL’s most prominent players entered the league as undrafted rookies. Former West Virginia and Richmond Hill star wide receiver Sam James looks to become one of those players. The Big 22 member received a phone call he had long awaited after going undrafted. James was one of 24 players signed by the Los Angeles Rams. It will mark the first time the southeast Georgia native has been on the west coast, and it will be to chase his dream of playing in the NFL. This past season, James caught 46 balls for 745 yards and six touchdowns. In addition, he caught 190 passes for 2,231 yards and 15 touchdowns in 50 career games for WVU, including a career-high 69 receptions in 2019. James finished his career ranked fifth in career receptions and eighth in career receiving yardage.
