A fight broke out Tuesday at the United States Penitentiary Beaumont.
Multiple inmates were seen fighting around 9 a.m., according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons in Beaumont.
After securing the scene, staff determined two inmates had minor injuries and would need outside medical treatment, the release said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified, and no staff or other inmates received injuries during the incident. At no time was the public in danger, according to the news release.
An internal investigation is being conducted, and the facility will return to normal operations status as soon as possible, according to the news release. The release did not give any information as to what may have been the cause of the fight.
The prison facility is a high-level security facility with 1,456 male offenders.
