A Texas state senator is filing four more gun safety bills in response to last year’s deadly school shooting in Uvalde.
Sen. Roland Gutierrez’s bills would require gun owners to buy liability insurance, require an ID to buy ammo, require vendors to report bulk ammo sales to a new Department of Public Safety database, and expand safe storage requirements.
Gutierrez is a San Antonio Democrat whose district includes Uvalde. He has already filed bills to raise the minimum age to buy semiautomatic rifles to 21 and other measures.
