New Jersey woman killed after being pinned in Kenedy County

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A woman was killed in Kenedy County after she was pinned under the semi-truck she was traveling in, according to DPS officials.

The truck was stopped at around 9 in the morning on US-77.

The driver and passenger left the truck tractor at different times to use the restroom underneath the cargo trailer.

The driver did not notice the woman was underneath the trailer and continued traveling. DPS officials said the passenger was then pinned underneath the trailer.

The passenger was 59-year-old Tina Berki of New Jersey. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
