I hope the Eagles fly in the Super Bowl.
My hometown Philadelphia Eagles have extended this banner year in sports in the City of Brotherly Love. The Phillies reached the 2022 World Series and now our NFL team will play in Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII, the 57th edition, against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The big game, televised on Fox, is at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with Rihanna doing the halftime show.
Of course the Phillies lost the World Series to the Houston Astros in six games. But I expect the Eagles to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The Philadelphia 76ers are also having a great year and might reach the NBA Finals by late May-June.
Lately it seems all the Philly teams do is win, win, win no matter what.
I spent the first 13 years of my life in Philadelphia – from west Philadelphia, born and raised. We moved to Huntsville in 1968 when my dad’s job came to Redstone Arsenal from Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, and the Pentagon.
These days I root for the Chicago Cubs, the Atlanta Braves, the Tennessee Titans, the Los Angeles Lakers and my alma mater Auburn. But I’ll always be a Philly guy. So, do us proud, Eagles.
